CYPRESS LAKE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH MUSIC DIRECTOR

Job Description:
Cypress Lake Presbyterian Church in Fort Myers, FL has a position open for a “Music Director.” This is a part-time (20 hrs./week) employed position to provide the leadership and oversight of the music and arts (supporting the overall music ministry activities) of CLPC, working collaboratively with the Pastor, Office Manager and AV Team.

Pay:
Salary starts at $20,000.00 and is commensurate with experience.

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Music

Experience:
1) Church musician requiring proficiency in vocal, choral, directing, and hand bells.
2) Piano/organ church traditional music experience to accompany choirs and individual musicians.
3) Competency in teaching various styles of Christian music and vocal techniques
4) Strong faith and spiritual knowledge to serve the Lord
5) Ability to encourage teamwork. Familiarity with video production and live streaming.
6) Attendance/punctuality at worship services including Holy Week and Christmas Eve as well as rehearsals.
7) Initiative to introduce and teach new music. Good communication skills (verbal and written) to effectively communicate with CLPC Congregations, Gloria Choir, Voices in Bronze and CLPC staff.
8) Attendance in weekly staff meetings and monthly Ministry Teams meeting.

Position Responsibilities:
Selects music with the pastor in preparation for the weekly traditional worship service Prepares and leads the music ministry of Gloria Choir and Voices in Bronze, including rehearsals. Accompanies the choirs, soloists and instrumentalists for the traditional worship service. Oversees soloists and guest musicians. Maintains the music library, upkeep of instruments, and maintains communications with the audio/media staff. Coordinates music for various church functions (weddings, funerals, etc). Support special outreach music ministries and special presentations, such as Christmas, Holy Week, Easter, Cantatas, and musicals. Exhibits flexibility in a changing environment (inclusive of in-person and distance worship). Introduces and teaches new Christian music and vocal techniques. Works with the Office Manager to contribute to weekly bulletin and news articles for the weekly newsletter.
